The focus starts from the protection of human environment in the form of Stockholm conference, mainly to provide a solid base for future development and orientation. This book also covers Rio Summit, Riots and Rio +10, underlining the fact that one of the key outputs o the Rio Summit was to highlight and focus attention on the environment, spawning as a result a host of conventions, conferences and other activities, collectively called Rio agreements. The Johannesburg summit on sustainable development (i.e. Rio + 10) is described in detail. So are the economic and social demension of agenda 21 on  general issues.
