"The author has identified main problems which are responsible for consumer exploitation and has conducted a systematic and critical study of consumer legislation.
An important feature of the book is that it precisely presents and discusses some landmark judgements of Supreme Court and National Commission and scrutinizes the impact of these judgements on the courts of state of Jammu and Kashmir. Further the study makes evolution of various judgements disposed off by Consumer Disputes Redressal Agencies of the state.
The main contribution of the book is that while critically analysing the various provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Consumer Protection Act, 1987 the study presents the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 a model legislation for the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
