The present volume Buddhism Buddhists and Buddhist Studies contains selected papers invited for the International Conference on The State of Buddhism, Buddhists and Buddhist Studies in India and Abroad held on January 2-4-2009 at Banaras Hindu University Varanasi on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bhikkhu Jagdish Kashyap the pioneer scholar in the field of Pali and Buddhist studies and the founder teacher of Pali in Banaras Hindu University.
This volume focuses on three broad themes of the conference Buddhism Buddhists and Buddhist studies. It deals with the historical survey of Buddhism Buddhist renascent movements and the role of Buddhists and Buddhist Scholars in the revival of Buddhism in India during the last hundred years.
