One of the major events in the history of Ancient India was the advent of Buddhism in the Sixth century B.C. According to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Buddhism was Great revolution, and Buddhism declined in India as result of counter-revolution initiated by the Brahmins. In order to elaborate this thesis, Dr. Ambedkar had planned to write a comprehensive work containing as many as forty chapters. Unfortunately, he could not complete the proposed work due to other compelling pre-occupations. However, some idea of what he had in mind for presentation in that work can be had from his other writings on Buddhism.
